A specialist library located in Ultimo Sydney that collects, preserves, and promotes the awareness of the literary and cultural heritage of Australian women.

The Society of Women Writers
It aims to enable women writers in all genres to meet and network, and to benefit from regular seminars and workshops. It also aims to encourage aspiring writers to achieve professional status.

Playworks
Playworks is a dynamic national network supporting women writing for theatre and performance.

WEA Writers Groups
A friendly environment in which to read from your work. They meet on the second Saturday of each month.

The NSW Department of Community Services (DoCS) promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and works to build stronger families and communities.They provide child protection services, parenting support and early intervention, foster care, adoption services and help for communities affected by disaster.

LOTL
Lesbians on the Loose! Publishes a monthly magazine depicting lesbian life and style since 1989.A fantastic free magazine with loads of information about the scene and community groups in Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra

Spinifex Press
Feminist press founded by Susan Hawthorne, a member of the Women's Library since it's inception. Spinifex Press regularly donate books for the Women's Library.Worth a look

The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Choir
They have strong links to the Women’s Library, and there are videos of their performances available. Get involved if you feel like a change from reading.

ACON
The Aids Council of NSW. They run some lesbian coming out groups and have a lesbian health worker.

Older Women's Network, Sydney
Aims to promote the rights, dignity and wellbeing of older women. A self-help group run by volunteers, aims to promote enricdhmnet, mujtual support, companionship and friendship amongst older women; challenge negative attitudes about ageing; promote healthy agening, which includes social, intellectual, physical and emotional factors; and to influence the outcome of policy decisions affecting our lives.

Bushwise Women
Do you want to explore wilderness places? BE guided by local women, expert on their home ground. Extend your comfort zones in the outdoors, and meet women from other destinations. Small groups explore scenic areas of environmental significance.

Mental Health Site
Beyond Blue- Advise and contact details for people suffering from depression

Telephone counselling available 5.30pm to 10.30pm, 7 days a week. They're trying to get a lesbian specific line set up so check out their website for details - or, why don't you volunteer yourself! We have heard it can be hard to get through on the phones but keep on persevering. They also run a women's coming out group 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month in Newtown, Sydney.

Pinkboard
A Sydney-centric site. Lists accomodation wanted/on offer and a 'graffiti board' where you can have your say and find out information.

Lesbian site, fabulous for a friendly chat or hot date, post your comments,check out whats on around the country.Very popular site with lesbians of all ages.

The philosophy of Reclaim The Night encourages grass roots participation in the organisation of events by as many women as possible. In this way it is able to draw together women from diverse backgrounds and experiences to work together in addressing issues of sexual violence against women and children.

Lesbian Open House meets Tuesday nights 7pm @ TWL for an informal discussion on our cosy couches,open to all women, topics are varied but often humerous, great opportunity for social networking amongst gorgeous women,meeting new friends.
